\nSan Marino, an excursion between legend and reality
Like a precious button inserted into a special buttonhole, that of the Romagna landscape, San Marino stands out for its appearance and for the rich heritage of traditions that it jealously guards, but which it courteously offers to visitors who come to discover it.<\/p>\n

San Marino, an autonomous nation nestled between Romagna and the Marche, offers free access to anyone who wants to visit it. It stands 700 meters above sea level on Mount Titano, dominating the valleys of Montefeltro.<\/p>\n

Even from a distance, it is possible to see the medieval layout that characterizes the buildings of this place, from which three towers stand out, connected by a series of walls built in ancient times to protect the territory.

The Public Palace of San Marino is located in Piazza della Libert\u00e0, a panoramic terrace from which you can enjoy a splendid view stretching from the Adriatic Coast to the Apennines.<\/p>\n

The State Museum in Piazza Titano houses important artifacts that bear witness to the evolution of this unique village.<\/p>\n

Three imposing fortresses dominate San Marino and the surrounding area: the Prima Torre, Rocca Cesta, with its unmissable Arms Museum, and Rocca Montale.
Every year in September, the narrow streets that form a dense network between these three ancient bastions take on a special atmosphere, that of the national holiday. On this occasion, it is possible to see a group of flag throwers and crossbowmen who, recalling an ancient tradition of the country, parade and perform in a spectacle of times gone by.<\/p>\n

This marks the beginning of the Medieval Days of San Marino, which, as a top event, offer an exciting exhibition at the Cava dei Balestrieri, where a group of well-trained young people compete in a tournament with the weapon that has always symbolized the main ancient means of defense of the village.<\/p>\n
